Improvements
One of the many joys of owning a boat is when you get to upgrade her. In Curlew's case the objective was in part to improve her ability to work as a charter vessel, while also staying true to her heritage. Of course we are always looking for ways to make her even more magnificent as well.
2009 Rick made this beautiful hatch to match her original design

2010 We rebuilt the fiddles with fewer SS rods

To make more room for stowage, we installed a much smaller holding tank

Framing for a new port side berth and stowage

Another work of art by master craftsman Rick Brown

We ripped out the quarter berth to provide more access

Rick had to hand make the teak and holly sole to match the original

This deck hatch was remade in 2009 to follow the contours of the deck in the same way the main companionway hatch does

Along with the new fore hatch design we need to rebuild the focs’l to accommodate a new ladder

The Port side bunks in the crew were dismantled

New Berth begins to take shape
Deck boxes port and starboard to provide more seating and life vest storage.

A redesigned propane locker

The quarter berth begins to take shape

Rick putting final touches on a custom stern seat

Another thing of beauty by Rick
